Christmas Day in Geneva

After lunch, a wander into the Old Town. A bitter, bitter wind was brutal to walk through. The place one takes shelter, however, has not changed in a millenium. St Peter’s Cathedral was warm and musical, an orchestra having a rehearsal for a concert at 5pm. A coffee shop provided more shelter until then, sort of a hippy seventies sort of place which, astonishingly, was staying open until 2am. It is easy to generalise in stereotypes about Geneva, but little things are always around the corner to surprise you.

A concert of Beethoven and Tschaikovsky, attended by young, old, backpackers and establishment, a collection at the door. Back home to more culture: Toy Story 1. I was given the set for my birthday recently and never seen them before.

There is lots of information online about the Cathedral, including wiki of course and this one: St Peter’s Cathedral Geneva
